Dr Ross McCartney is a Director of, and Principal Consultant for, Oilfield Water Consultants Limited.  He has been a consultant since 1986, has over 35 years’ experience in the oil, nuclear, and geothermal industries, and has authored numerous publications.

His main areas of expertise are:

• Interpretation of formation water and produced water analyses.
• Geochemical and reactive transport modelling.
• Water-rock interactions.
• Scale prediction.
• Sampling and analysis of water.

Dr McCartney currently serves on the SPE Scale Conference committee and the SPE Scale Workshop committee (Chairperson, 2009), is a technical reviewer for SPE Production and Operations journal, and has been an invited speaker, keynote speaker and discussion leader at workshops and conferences.
